I first heard of DBI through a friend of mine that was attending DBI. At first I was hesitant to attend because it was unfamiliar to me and I attended a church other than Evangel. I made the decision to step out on faith and at least test out Day 1 of class because of the great things I heard about DBI. My first class was Hermenuetics--I was blown away by both the content and quality of the course and how great I felt knowing that I was learning how to read the Word of God. This level of training was something I was missing in my Christian life. After that first class, my hunger grew for more. I enrolled in Systematic Theology and continued my DBI journey. I kept taking classes and now find myself as a DBI graduate. I am so thankful for my DBI training. It inspired me to think about the contribution I would like to make to church history and equipped me to better understand and defend my faith.
-S. Pruitt (Detroit, MI)
When I first learned about Detroit Bible Institute, I thought that it would be something that I would do in the future, once I finished what I was currently doing, but God had other plans. My plans quickly fell apart so with life not going the way I planned, I registered for Detroit Bible Institute. I’m glad that God knows what’s best for me. I welcomed the vast amount of knowledge and information that the Detroit Bible Institute instructors presented and was delighted with their passion to educate people about God. The knowledge and information was not isolated to some classes or instructors but it permeated thoughout every class and with every instructor.
While attending the Detroit Bible Institute, I have met brothers and sisters in Christ and developed godly friendships that will last a lifetime. I have received seminary teaching that stands second to none. My faith has increased. I have more knowledge and a better understanding of God but what is most important; my relationship with God has become more intimate.
I have discovered that the Detroit Bible Institute offers a banquet of spiritual food and I had no good reason to be spiritually starved when the feast of the Lord is going on.
Detroit Bible Institute has transformed my life. I have learned how to effectively study the Scriptures. I am able to know truth from error. I am more confident defending my faith. I understand passages in the Old Testament and how they relate to the New Testament. I have applied the tools of study practically in my everyday life.
So I say to anyone contemplating investing further in their spiritual growth, that they have made a wise decision. DBI will challenge you to go where no other bible study program has gone before. It is academically rigorous – yet spiritually rewarding. DBI can be compared with any other bible school that prides itself on the absolute truth and inerrancy of God’s word.
Take it from me, I’ve completed & graduated from both programs back to back: the Foundational Program in 2011 and the Advance Program in 2012. So I encourage you by saying, if you are ready for your next biblical challenge, you’re at the right place, at the right time, to receive a springboard of teaching for a life long journey of learning.

Hello Professor Johnson,
Good evening. I find myself rereading the eschatology chapters in the Systematic Theology text and plan to read some of the other chapters we did not cover. Then plan to review the materials re: the research paper on homosexuality, in addition to, finalizing answers to questions asked of our debate group that we should have been able to answer. I had actually uploaded St.Anselm's beautiful Ontological View and had thought to do a paper on it until we got our assigned topics. I thought you might like to know that I am not alone in stating that the quest and thirst for doctrinal information did not end with the last day of class. Although fast-paced for a first-timer such as myself, I now have some time to review materials in depth before putting them away for the next class (Fall).
I appreciate your notable dedication and interest in our rising to meet the bar set for the class. It has been far too many years since I have had to really study, use a library or do research culminating in a term paper format. All the tools have changed!! This is all to say thank you for hanging in there with us...for setting a wonderful model for us to follow...stirring up our thirst for more...and illuminating the love of Christ.
I pray that your journey continues to be fruitful.
Yours in Christ,
"I was raised in a Christian home, attended Christian school and unfortunately during college became very distant from the Lord. About seven years ago my husband and I began attending church again and have recommitted our lives to Christ. I have since been interested in furthering my education in Biblical Studies, however found it difficult to find a program that would fit in our budget. I performed a Google search for Biblical Studies Courses in Michigan. Much to my surprise Detroit Bible Institute popped up on the screen. I became so excited when reading through all the information and learning of the classes that were offered. Words cannot express the quality of the instructors and the level of scholarship that DBI offers. I look forward to continuing my education at DBI over the next couple of years and discovering what the Lord has planned for my future." - Erica K., a current DBI student 12/6/13
